Ethan and I went down to Mobile,AL to get a distributor for O-Ren. We didn't have any luck, but I did get really depressed at how many amazing cars were down there that were just thrown away. So much potential rusting.
The biggest heartbreak I saw was a 1987 Toyota Corolla. The hood was popped and all the pulleys were rusted. The headlights were cracked and the steering wheel was missing. I could see what this car could be and it broke my heart that I couldn't do anything about it.
Two MX3's were there. Both were 4 cylinders and both were in bad shape. Going to the junkyard to me is like going to the pound. I feel helpless in both situations.
In the end I just have to focus on getting my car fixed and make her be a loss to the land of lost dreams.

Exotics
Porches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Aston Martin should be cars that I drool over and pose by. Instead I find them incredibly overrated as a car. As art they are beautiful. However, most car enthusiasts say they are the best of all the cars that are made. They call them supercars and have shows all about them. Let's get back to reality though. Are they really that great?
The engine in an Aston Martin Vanquish is a whopper V12. I have seen a photo and the first thing I think is that would be a bitch to work on. You have zero room! You would be cussing just changing fluids in it. The argument for this is that if you had enough money to get an Aston, then you would have enough money to take it to the shop each time and get it fixed. Where is the fun in that though? Isn't that part of loving cars? Actually being able to work on them?
Another problem I see is the in HP for each car. Some are impressive and others just have my eye twitching. Lets take the Vanquish's V12 and compare it to the Shelby GT500's 5.4 L supercharged V8. I know it is supercharged but I think it is fair. The Vanquish has 450bhp which honestly isn't that great. The Shelby puts out 550hp. Shouldn't the Aston be kicking the Mustang's ass seeing as it has a bigger engine? This is my evidence that bigger engines don't mean bigger power. I honestly don't know why they put V12s in cars when the turboed or supercharged V8s do just fine. When people hear V12 they think it will be fast. It isn't really true.
Another thing I don't like about exotics are the drivers. They expect to be respected in the car world because they have a fast car. I personally do not respect any car lover that doesn't work on their car. I do not respect a car lover that gets his or her car fast from the factory. Cars don't impress me that are like that. People who get a piddly stock car that puts out a measly 100hp and turns it into something amazing gets all my respect. That is what I think loving cars is all about.

"Your car is so effin' rice man!"
If I had a nickel every time I heard that sentence, I would be a billionaire. Why do guys complain about girls talking shit about another and how much they hate drama? Think about it the car world is 90% shit talking and 10% racing. Guys in the car world are no better than girls in high school.
I think I might do an experiment where I go on a car page and count how many times someone talks shit on the page and how much they actually talk about cars and compare. The shit talking is going to be higher. Facebook is the worst because it is all shit talk and no actual talk about cars. Why all the hate? Who gives a shit if their car is slow? Shut the hell up and pass them.
What makes a car rice? Apparently stickers, a huge wing, and a painted valve cover. Perhaps a little bit big ass body kit and race seats thrown in there too. Why can't they be like that in peace?
Now I understand if they are acting like their car is fast and that they know everything about cars is annoying. I make fun of people like that with Ethan all the time, but I leave it at that. I point and laugh QUIETLY and go on with my life. Normally I say "Man, they must be legit!" and that is all! They obviously don't need to get away with that false information, but damn people! Takin it a little too far sometimes.
Shit talking isn't the only thing guys do that is like that of a high school girl, oh no! No, my friend, there is more! I found myself at an autocross event with Ethan one day and the whole time the guys stayed quiet and glared at each other. They had their own little groups that they stayed in. That doesn't remind me of 9th grade at all!
People need to be more humble in the car world. It would do wonders.
Work on your car, race said car, and shut the hell up in the meantime. It is okay to make a note that the person is stupid within your group, but for the love of God keep it quiet! And stop being so relentless with it. I understand that venting frustrations with stupid people is a must because bottling it up is unhealthy. I do! Say "That guy is dumb, he thinks racing seats makes his car fast. I find his remarks entertaining."
I am going to stop venting. Stop acting like girls. They point out that I am a girl so I am pointing out that some of them are female as well.

O-Ren: The story of my 92' Mazda MX3
I found my beautiful car for sale on craigslist for $500 dollars. The ad said it had a JDM swapped engine in it and all it needed was new head gaskets and shifter bushings. Me and my boyfriend knew it was fate.
Before I found her, I knew her name was going to be O-Ren because I am a huge fan of the Kill Bill movies and O-Ren Ishii is my favorite character.
When we brought her home we started working on her the next day. It is a shame what O-Ren has been through. She has little dings all on the sides, the throttle body was covered in oil, she has no battery, water was in the cylinders and her stock air box is a travesty. We fixed the head gaskets, got her a new battery, cleaned all the oil and got her started for a day or two.
Now she won't start again, but at least all the major work is done. Whatever is wrong with her has to do with either her disty or a sensor somewhere.
I almost forgot to mention her engine. She has a KF-ZE 2.0L V6 in her and I just love it. People tell me to swap it for the bigger KL for the MX3,but I just love this engine too much.
My boyfriend,Ethan, wants me to lower her. I tell him not O-Ren because she is going to be my exploring car and you can pick random roads with a lowered car. Here is a photo of her.

"This here is man stuff little lady. Go fix me a sandwich!"
Before I go on with my love for cars, I have to confess that I can't drive. I am 24 years old with an expired permit. Why, you might ask? Because I have a phobia of driving. Silly, yes, but I have it and I must deal with it.
Because of this little detail, people don't expect me to know about cars. That and I am a woman. Ah, yes, sexism is alive and well down here in Alabama. It is frustrating as hell, but I am getting used to it. Down here trucks are rulers of the road and if you don't have a Z71 with pyyyyps then you are a pansy.
I hate trucks. With a passion. You will not see me raving over a tacoma or a dodge ram or a chevy. Hell no. I think they are good for hauling, but what man actually uses their truck for that?
What you will see in this blog is my outlook on how stupid the overall social side of the car world is, my favorite cars, my adventures with Oren and my challenges on trying to drive.
